TVH: Tuesday is the day...

My surgery is Tuesday Jan. 24th!! I really getting scared I just have so many fears of what I will feel like after I recover. I'm having a TVH and removal of one or both ovaries. I was also wondering if I will be given HRT?

Everything will be fine. Some docs give hrt right away, and some don't. They had to take both my ovaries, so the doc told my husband to run by his office the following day and he would give him samples. Everything is well. I am 11 days post op.

I too am going on Tuesday, and you and I will both do great.

Hello I am new to this. I am having my surgery on January 30th I am having a TH. I am scared of how I will feel afterwards. I really was not having any symptoms besides cramps and bright red blood as period during those cramps. I went to have a ultasound done because of my stomach cramps and they said I had gallstones and I had to have it removed during this time they found a solid mass on my right ovary and sent me for a catscan. during the catscan they found another solid mass on my left ovary with some free fluid and air in pelvic area. My mom passed away 2 years ago at 54 due to colon cancer. Because of this they recomended a full hysterecotomy. I am just wondering also if I will come home the same day they keep telling me its a 23 hour observation. I have my pre op on tuesday the 24th hoping to learn more then. But would appreciate any suggestions on the HRT. Will I be a hormonal mess when I wake up??So scared of all this...

If the ovaries go, you go on HRT! :-) ...for most of us, that is...

HRT doses/medications is very individual, most to try a few "recipes" to get the right one. Some seem to get the right one the first time, others try a few before finding that perfect one. Just brace yourself for a little trial and error, and don't be shy about telling your Dr exactly what is and isn't working with each HRT.

I did not have ovaries removed, even though that was the original plan.. but I doubt you'll wake up a hormonal mess.. LOL.. you're a bit too drugged for quite a while to care what a hormone is! :-)

I know its super scary to worry on "waking up" and what it will be like. For me, a big smile, no stress, and no pain! Hadn't woke up that way in 20 years... bliss! ...actually bliss with a morphine pump = super double triple bliss! LOL!
