Post-op check in

So, had my da vinci lap on Friday, 2/18. They took me in early in the am, and I was on the table for 2 hrs. Honestly, I was in recovery much longer than on the table. Spent a lot of time in recovery because I kept getting muscle spasms through my abdomen, which just incapacitated me. Couldn't really move much, and my breathing was shallow (i am asthmatic to start with). I was moved to a room late afternoon on Friday, and began to run a fever, and my breathing was tachy, so they sent me for a chest x-ray and gave me a nebulizer treatment for my breathing. Sat. AM felt slightly better, fever went away, and I was able to walk a bit, but not as much as I expected. I was discharged from the hospital late Saturday night.

However, it's now Tuesday, and since I've been home, each day has shown great changes. My abdomen is still distended, and achy, but I'm moving around much better, able to sleep, and not so drowsy. Better every day!

Re: Post-op check in

I had davinci 2/1. I had shallow breathing also due to morphine. My belly I thought would never go down but by day 6 I got my jeans on. Everyone is different. Some posts I've read sisters aren't in their jeans 3 months post op. You are soooo lucky you can sleep. I have had insomnia since I got off percocet.
Good luck in your recovery and TAKE your time. I have been feeling amazing. I really over did it but didn't know til the next day...so I'm back on meeds and the couch again.
Take care and keep posting.
Hugs
