Re: blood clot in hand??

Please call your doctor and ask about the bump. At almost 7 weeks, this is sort of odd. It may be infection or any number of things but you should definitely call and ask about it. (((hugs)))

Re: blood clot in hand??

the nurse that was putting my IV in pre-surgery messed it up, and the site was very painful, swollen, and had a visible bump for two weeks, although it was getting better, but very slowly. I was also concerned about the blood clot, so asked a family friend who's a dr to take a look. He told me that yes, it was a blood clot, but the ones in the hand veins are too small to cause danger to the heart. It's the the clots from the lungs and other internal arteries that usually were cause for concern. That eased my worrying and eventually the swelling went away. Hope this eases your mind, but yes, 7 wks out, it could be something else, and a good idea to check with your dr.
