Stressed, Medicaid denying surgery.....

I am so stressed today. My surgery is scheduled for friday Dec. 3. I need a TAH, but medicaid is not approving it. The doctor's office called and said they were not going to cancel the surgery yet, and scheduled me for an ultrasound along with my pre-op testing. She said hopefully after that she can get it approved. I hope so, I am ready for this to be over, and I had already prepared everything including myself.

Oh Boy....I am so sorry to hear this. Hopefully it will get resolved after the testing. Your Dr sounds like she/he is trying to make your case clear on your behalf. Keep us posted.

Re: Stressed, Medicaid denying surgery.....

So sorry to hear that. Things will work out, like the other post said, your doctor must think that with the ultrasound results Medicaid will approve once they see that the surgery is needed. Try not to stress, which I know is easier said than done. I go on the 13th to discuss my surgery options and to hopefully get a date for January. So I am in the same boat of wondering if my medical insurance will cover the surgery!

No doubt your surgeon knows the ins and outs of Medicaid approval, and is going for the documentation that will seal the deal. Please have faith that this will happen as planned!

Hopefully the tests will confirm you need the hysterectomy and you can get it approved. Since the doctor did not cancel the surgery I think there is hope.....
