Muscle Spasms

Had a night full of muscle contractions/spasms last night. I never had these pre hyster. They feel like a back to front stretch! My muscles everywhere seem to tense and then relax all at once?! I am wondering if this is because I was more active yesterday. Walking more than usual. I have had these occasionally throughout my post-op 3 weeks. Very strange feeling! They don't hurt but I wonder if any of my internal stitches are being strained.
Has anyone else had these recently? Does anyone know what they are?!

Re: Muscle Spasms

Hmm I didn't have that... Try a search of the site and maybe you'll find another thread that mentions this.

Re: Muscle Spasms

This happened to me a few nights ago, about 7 days post op. Strange but I had not taken my pain med before bed and attributed it to my muscles needing to be relaxed. The pain meds helped. I hope yours gets better.

Re: Muscle Spasms

I've had things going on inside that sound like what you describe..... I think!

All sorts of twinges and spasms and twangs! Some quite painful, briefly.

But not now - at 8 weeks, so I guess it's all part of the healing process.

Re: Muscle Spasms

I experienced the same thing during week 3 every night, but it seems to have stopped now. It is a strange feeling, hard to describe to someone...

Re: Muscle Spasms

I have had them this week (week 3 post-op), but think for me it's related to overdoing it. A heating pad, muscle relaxer and pain pill worked wonders. One night they were so severe, I couldn't even get myself to bed. Hubby helped me walk in and it took an hour for them to calm down and even longer to fall asleep.

Re: Muscle Spasms

t1ghtwad, I have sympathy for you! Mine haven't stopped me from getting to sleep yet but have woken me up a few times a night. Still can't get over what a strange feeling it is. It's almost like my body exercising itself. I wish it wouldn't do that when it's sleep time though. Not really the right time for a workout!!!

Re: Muscle Spasms

My spasms feel like I'm about 6 months pregnant with a very restless child moving inside! Kinda cool, since I never thought I'd feel that again; but not cool because it's uncomfortable and painful, and it's not a precious little one inside. I don't know if that makes sense, but it was a little weird!
