Re: Period pains 5 months after TAH

I've experienced swelly belly and mild crampiness at 5 months post op. For me, it was after doing something intense which engaged my abs - not necessarily "overdoing" it, but doing something at a level I wasn't used to since surgery. It wasn't a continuous feeling, though - is it with you? It could be that you're still healing internally; some Sisters report that for them it takes 6 months before they no longer think about their surgery.

There is an article on 10 Reasons for Cramping After Hysterectomy. Sometimes it's digestive issues. If that's the case, give your diet a tune up, or maybe visit your GP if you're already eating digestion-friendly foods.

Another possibility would be a hormone imbalance; check 10 Hormonal Imbalance Symptoms. You might want to keep a journal of your symptoms to share with your doctor. If your hormones need tweaking, your journal will help.

Period pains 5 months after hysterectomy

I am experiencing PMS every month now. Tender breasts, moody and sleepy. I'm 6 months post op today - I had TAH due to a very large fibroid. Kept ovaries only. Swelly belly still pops up every now and again. I still get twinges of pain and it's actually a good reminder for me. I'm quite active and I need that wake up call that this was a major surgery and as my doctor told me, "takes a solid year to recover". Thanks for the post. I've been meaning to get back to this site as I have had a few questions myself. I'll be posting mine later today. Take care Hope you are feeling better.
