Occasional Vaginal Soreness 3 months Post Op Hysterectomy

Is it normal to still have occasional deep vaginal soreness 3 months after surgery? I still get sore from time to time just sitting and doing nothing. Also there are times when I squat to pick something up and I stand it feels like a hot poker is up inside my vagina. My gyn never did an internal exam after surgery saying there was no need to disrupt the healing process so how do I know if I am healing properly?
