dvH Tuesday !!

Doing ok.....tried to keep my mind off it today....baked 2 apple pies for DH and parents while I'm in the hospital.....cleaned the fridge......did my nails......and mixed up my 4 liters of bowel prep....omg !!!! That's a lot to drink !!!! Looks like I only get chicken broth, soda and gatorade tomorrow.....I'm sure I'm going to lose at least 10 lbs by tomorrow night !!!!!

LOL Konabound! Are you doing the halflyghtly (sp)?

I did that last year and mixed it up the night before just like you're doing so it was nice and cold! It wasn't too bad- though I drank it pretty quickly before the taste could really register on my tastebuds. The texture was a bit slick and looks like a lot but it was very doable. You'll be fine.

Just stay VERY close to the restroom! That stuff works REALLY well and you won't get the normal biological warnings before you just go.

I read one story by a sister here last year where she took the pill, drank the stuff and decided to chill in her recliner with her feet up. The urge to go hit her like a ton of bricks and she was frantically trying to get out of the recliner- she said she looked like she was on a bucking bronco. Oh my, I had to laugh at that!

Good luck with your surgery! You sound like you are well-prepared (apple pies? you are my heroine, girl! ;-)). I hope you surgery and recovery go smoothly! Remember to rest and pamper the !!

i never did finish all my bowel prep cocktail...once i got to the point where i was obviously cleared out and about to puke, i figured it wouldn't do any further "good." i think i got through three-quarters of what i had to take. it was a miralax/gatorade thing. gross! but effective...

That's hilarious !!! I can just picture that !!!! Thanks for the warning !!! I'll for-go the recliner ! My JUG says PG 3350 & Electrolytes, the paperwork I got from my dr calls it Golytly or something like that. I told my DH he could save the JUG and use it to drain his oil out of car on his next oil change. It's huge !!! My pharmacist said I could mix it with Gatorade but I can't find anything to confirm that so will stick with the chilled water. Don't want to take any chances.....not worth it !

LOL- yeah, the visual had me laughing too!

I mixed it with water- the powder was lemon-lime so I didn't think it needed any additional flavoring. And like you I wanted to follow my doc's orders to the T! I did have a glass of water near me as a *chaser* after drinking each 8 oz of the stuff.

How's your bowel prep going? I have my surgery Tues as well. I am new but I think the dvh means davinci right? If so that is what I am having too. I start my bowel prep at 10:00 am. I am doing the miralax with water then 2 duculax at 5:00 tonight.

Good luck sisters. I'm scheduled in 3-1/2 weeks for my DVH and my doc actually told me bowel prep wouldn't be needed. But, we'll see. I have a feeling she's going to slip it in at my pre-op appointment.

I watched my husband drink this stuff the day before a colonospy (spelling?) and I was cracking up how many times he had to get up to go. I think it took us 3 hours to watch a movie that was 2 hours long.

It is amazing how fast it works. I did the salty lemon drink before my colonoscopy and it was terrible. I hear the miralax has no taste so I am hoping I do good. I drink 24 oz starting at 10:00...8 oz every 15 minutes. Then again at 2:00. Then 2 laxative tablets at 5:00. Then potassum liquid at 10:00 tonight. I am having some tummy issues already this morning so I am drinking some tea to help. I forgot to ask the nurse if I can have a coke. I would love one.
