laser hysterectomy

My surgery was postponed until May 11, I found out last week my doctor is taking it out with laser. I guess he said there is 4 little incisions and the recovery is suppose to be shorter then normal. Like 1 week driving prilveges. Wonder how else I will be feeling? Does oneone know? Has anyone here ever had the surgery like that?

Hi sister, yes, I had the 4 small incisions, LAVH, was a very easy surgery for me, did not have any problems, went in on a Friday morning at 8 am and was out the next day by 2:30pm. I don't know if I was just a lucky one, or if the surgery was just much easier being with the laser, I hope your surgery goes as well as well as mine...............good luck, I will pray for you!!!!!!

Are you talking about a laparascopic supracervical hyst? (LSH). This is a different procedure than a LAVH (Lap Assisted VAginal Hyst).

You can do a search by clicking on <search> which is at the top of each page. The search function requires at least 4 letters, so add a * to the initials LSH and you will get a list of threads that have discussed LSH.

Whatever the procedure it is still major surgery, and you need to allow enough time for the internal healing to take place.

Best wishes!
