Another newbie question

What is the best way to navigate this site? I have read the pre-op boards and the hints. Should I be reading the post-op board too? Should I just read everything. This is my first message board and don't do messaging, just email, so I am not very familiar with the workings of it all.
I am reading the pre-op and posting some, but what has worked for you? Thanks for any help.

Hi there and

When I first came to this board, it was my first time on a message board too. I was a little confused, but finally got the hang of it.

My suggestion is to look up at the purple bar where it says...message boards, control panel, etc. Click on New Here?, and read the stuff there. It will help you to know what to read, and you'll find some very interesting stuff.

Many s
Tam

Oh, and you Can read the post op board too, but I found that reading it while I was still pre-op scared the pants off me!

Follow your interestes and your thirst for knowledge. I started in pre-op, then read some of the personal stories and then for reassurance went to the post-op area to see what issues the post-op sisters are dealing with, just to feel prepared for whats ahead.

I've also hit the hormone jungle because I'm having my ovaries removed. Next I plan to check out the nutrition and exercise info to help with prep and recovery.

Hope this helps!

Hi and welcome!

I don't recommend reading the post-op board until AFTER you have had surgery. When I was a lady-in-waiting, I wandered over on that side one night out of morbid curiosity and almost cancelled my surgery right then and there. What I read scared the daylights out of me!!!!

Lukily, a very wise hostess managed to calm me down by explaining that usually only the ladies who are having problems post on that board and that ladies who are having uneventful recoveries don't post there, so what I was reading was the extreme problems which could happen.

As mentioned, read the pre-op board, read the Hints and FYI for your Pre-Op Preparations board, definitely read the Checkpoints and the Pre-Op Articles. And ask any questions you may have. We're here for you whenever you need us.

Best wishes and s,

Lisa
