6 months postop: when does the belly swelling stop?

Just curious because I am going insane with just tryin to get dressed everyday...somedays it's funny, other's make me want to cry...all those clothes and they fit, except when I go to fasten the waist GRRRRRRRRRR

I've been working out hard (PX90 program) so everything seems to slowly be going back to where it was...but the belly...the belly has a mind of it's own it seems...even though I was never pregnant, I think I *kinda* know what those women go through...

Also...anybody out there thinking we haven't been through major surgery needs to reconsider....I have never been so out of shape in my life and it is a struggle to get through a workout sometimes. Before the surgery I was easily doing 5-7 miles a day plus yoga...not even close to that yet!

I have been humbled to say the least...but with the workouts I sleep exceptionally well at night!

Also, any tips on the belly thing would be appreciated...right now I am going to strap myself into a waist cincher so I can put on my dress pants!

Thanks

I didn't swell after my Hyst. Actually I had such a 'pot', pre-op that I looovvveeddddd my flat belly Post-Op. However, I was swollen 'forever' when I had my second surgery. When does it go away? Well, somewhere around Christmas (so almost 8 months) I realized I wasn't swollen every night (I would wake with a flat belly and my night gown would pull across my belly in the evenings), just sometimes. Now at just over a year, if I have a really really big day, I am often swollen in the evening.

I am ok with where belly things have ended up but do expect they will continue to fade. It does though seem to be taking way too long.

Good for you being so active, you are an inspiration.

Yeah there are days when my belly is nice and flat and I think woohooo! I am making progress..

Then things go to hell in hand basket and I end up looking 5 months pregnant for 3 days....i wish I could see what is going on inside so I could understand better why this happens....

Thanks for the compliment, although many days when I am working out I don't feel like an inspiration, just insane!

Thanks for the input...

One thing I do take that has helped is Mustard Seed Extract (Pellets). They replaced my RX strength Moltrin at about 3 weeks post op and are a natural anti-inflammatory. There seems, at least for me, to be a connection or pattern that I get a little swollen and then the next day is minor bowel issues. I assume this is the swelling somehow aggravating the bowels but the pellets, yep I forget and find myself in this path, seem to greatly minimize this 'dance'.

The homopath name is Theosinaminum (or Theominasinum)

Mustard Seed...I will have to get that...I know they found mass adhesions when they went in...mostly connecting the bowel to the ovary...OWWWWW...no wonder I almost passed out when I did the daily....

Thanks for the recommend...I've been in my jeans once and it was kinda uncomfortable...hopefully this will take the swelling down....

Thanks Julie
