Big Bowel Problems! 8 days post op

I am 4 days post op and I am using milk of magnesia,prune juice3 ounces and a hot cup of coffee one right after the other works great! Might wanna give it a try.

I had a total hysterectomy, unterus, cervix, and both ovaries a week and a day ago...I'm starting to get around alittle better. My question is, this morning my ***** inside is really hurting when i have to pass gas. It is very painful. My bowel movements have been very loose somewhat watery. I'm just starting to eat something. The pain in the anal though is awful. Has anyone had this before?

I haven't taken pain pills for quite sometime but still have the problem. I take stoll softeners everyday and today I went out and loaded up on everything fibre. I am finding a book in the bathroom is very helpful because I spend a ot of time in there. lol

Hi maryann,
I had loose watery bowel movements rather than constipation too, though they were not particularly frequent. The pain you are describing might be irritation from diahorrea or somethingelse might be causing your pain like a haemorrhoid. You shouldn't put up with the loose bowel movements too long as you could become dehydrated. It might be worthwhile calling your doctor.

Maryann... Yes, I had the same pain in the first week. Didn't matter if it was gas or a BM on it's way, the pain reduced me to shaking and crying, however, I assumed it was my rectocele repair causing it. Either way, after 3.5 weeks, it's gone. Hope you feel better.
