pelvic floor repairs Average age?

Is there an average age for having TVH, rectocele, cystocele with bladder sling?

Re: pelvic floor repairs Average age?

The hysterectomy and cystocele repairs are feeling fine. Still tender/sensitive on my belly and my belly button has this weird tugging sensation & my pubic bone is sore/puffy from the sling, but not a big deal. The rectocele repair, on the other hand, is a giant PITA ( lol!). Still very sore/tender. I seem to have an adversion to the dissolve able stitches so I wonder if that's slowing the healing, but I'm pretty stingy/painful most of the time. There is no way I'll get a 6 week clearance. I don't work out of the home, so can't help much there, but if I did I think I'd be okay if I didn't have a job where I was standing/walking around much. A desk job I could probably pull off now. As it is I only had help for the first three days after surgery then it was back into full time mom/wife mode with house cleaning and kids to care for, so didn't get much of a break. I'm able to get the random afternoon nap in thanks to my husbands odd schedule and I find that I really do need that rest/down time.

Re: pelvic floor repairs Average age?

I am 39 ... sadly! I didn't have a sling and my rectocele wasn't repaired (grrr!) but 5 weeks out and I reckon I am just about there. I have been at the park with the kids today - just sitting - and although I can feel the spot where my uterus was it's more a sensation than a pain IYKIM. I had my first painless poo this morning (very exciting!) and although my rectocele wasn't repaired, I think the cystocele repair may have tightened everything enough to make complete voiding without splinting possible.
I think I am ready to go back to my desk job but not cleared until the 28th.
