Post Op Intimacy Question

Remember ladies, the Dr only clears you as medically fit. He has no idea if you are emotionally ready so if you don't want to do it yet, don't do it! But don't put it off forever as it is a little like pre-op - the waiting is the worst.

It really is worse than the first time ever as this time you know what it should feel like and it is scary as you still think that everything may fall out or the stitches might burst.

But, at the risk of repeating myself, don't focus on the first time. You will be tense and nervous & that never makes for a good experience. You may need to hold your tummy as the jiggling around feel strange & you may want to have lubricant at the ready, just in case it is needed. Treat the first time as a learning experience & make sure you communicate with your DH or SO so that he understands your fears (he may be scared too). Take it slowly & gently.

It took us 3 or 4 times before I could really relax and let go.
