Is this weird?

O.k., has this happened to anyone else?

Sometimes after I urinate, I feel these air "bubbles" from my vaginal area. It's not coming from the urinary tract -- it's definitely from the big "v." It doesn't happen every time, but often. Is this normal? Does it have anything to do with the vaginal cuff? Am I totally weird?

It is probably nothing to worry about, but I suggest you inform your surgeon. He/she will absolutely want to know if this is happening on a regular basis.

I've experienced the same thing in the first few weeks of my recovery. It was almost like "passing gas" from down there...with rumbling noise!

I have been getting air bubbles after I urinate but mine feel like they're coming from my urethra. They are very small and don't make any noise. I've been worried that I have a fistula (you can get gas in your bladder from this) but should I not worry anymore?

Wow! I can't believe I found this post. Just last night I was sitting around visiting with some people and I had to move and "it" (vaginal gas) happened to me and it was LOUD. My son, who was sitting by me, of course yelled out "mom, you farted". If only he and everyone else only knew the truth. I was totally embarassed. It happened again a couple of times after changing positions.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who experiennced this! Should I be concerned? It hasn't any more recently though.

I just researched some of the previous threads on "queefers," and WE ARE NOT ALONE!!!! It seems that this is indeed a common all be it bizarre occurrence following surgery. Just what we needed, huh? Another wonderful "bonus"!!!!!

Apparently, it's just annoying and lasts varying durations for everyone. No one really came up with a cause or cure, but at least we're not crazy. And since no one has ever actually died from embarrassment, I think we'll all be o.k.
