sex after total vaginal hysterectomy

how long did you wait after your tvh to have sex? I know you are to wait 6 weeks or till doc gives ok, but how long did you really wait, and did it hurt?

I'm still waiting and it's been 7 weeks for me, my doc said it was ok at 6 weeks, but my belly is still so sore and swollen that she said a couple more weeks would not hurt. You only have one time to heal properly, I'm making sure I do!

My dr cleared me at 6 weeks. We waited until 7 weeks. It didn't hurt for me. Just a little sore afterwards. It is very important for you to wait until you get clearance from your dr.

I had a 2 week check-up then a 8 week check-up , after the eight week I was released for sex and whatever.....

For me sex went on as usual, nothing seemed to be any different (no pain either)

I got the all clear at my 6 week check up, and we tried that night or the night after. We went slow, and it was a little uncomfortable that 1st time or 2. After it has been fine, no pain, no problems with the "O". In fact, things are better than before. Only problem I had was some bleeding about 8-9 weeks post op after sex. Found out it was granulation and treated with silver nitrate and Premarin cream for 2 weeks. 2 more days and we can try again....

Was given the go ahead yesterday (by my DR) for sex.
Last night everything worked as good as before. I was worried, but we took it slow and it worked out fine.
I had been worried about this all along, but now I know I feel the same feelings as before, there is some difference but not in a bad way....

i waited a long time but now sex is so much better than before. No pain
