Last Aunt Flo visit!

Ok, good news----Aunt Flo is stopping by for the last time, she snuck in, but oh has she made her presence known! I was beginning to get scared about surgery, thinking "do I really need it done?" Yep. now I remember why, the pain, cramps and OMG my back is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 16 more days til my visit to the castle. Can someone explain why they refer to it like that, castle and princess???

Oh, any idea how long I will not be able to mow the yard??

Thanks for the info!

Re: Last Aunt Flo visit!

I remember having my last visit in December. Boy oh boy was I super excited!!!! Now I smile when in the stall at work and in the neighboring stall I hear the crinkling of wrappers. It is so wonderful!!!

For mowing the lawn, I bet at least 6 weeks. They don't want you even sweeping. For 2 weeks you won't have the energy to do much anyway. Best to hire-out to have someone else do it, or else get family/friend/neighbor to assist.

I was never sure why they refer to the hospital as a castle and us princesses either! Other than it making it sound more pleasant and beautiful. I'd be interested in hearing that answer!

Good luck to you!

Re: Last Aunt Flo visit!

It is funny - I took provera for 10 days after my last clotting/bleeding episode (good LORD, I felt like I was giving birth, it was terrible!!) Well after 10 days on provera I thought I am feeling great, I dont' need a hysterectomy. I had to stop taking it to give my body a "break"...yep, 3 days later, there I was again, having unexpected "episodes" where I was doubled over in the bathroom crying about the size of the clots, etc. My 11 year old daughter just started her period and she really doesn't need to see this kind of thing and freak out about her cycle for the rest of her life. This is only my second surgery in my 45 years on the earth, so that's not so bad!!

I should mention that my last surgery was a ductal excision in my breast - we thought it might be cancer, so that was a very tough time. Ladies, this is MUCH easier than staring down possible breast cancer!

It is just a good reminder that yes, this surgery is a pain - but it is a GOOD THING. My condition was interfering with my life in so many ways and I want my old life (Before February!) back! Bring on the castle.

Re: Last Aunt Flo visit!

Sorry Aunt Flo is paying her last visit! Look at the bright side - this her LAST ONE!!! YEAH FOR YOU!

I just learned today that I will NEVER HAVE ONE AGAIN!! I am on BCP's and spoke with my surgeon's nurse today and found out I can stay on them until the day before surgery!! It made me so excited! LOL! Oh the little things huh?

gbtitletown - Your "paper crinkling" story made me laugh so hard!! And then I felt sorry for the actual paper crinkler!!

I am just blown away at how many of us are suffering or had to.

And yeah, what the heck will make me feel like a princess and I don't think I will be thinking I am in a castle on May 6th. I guess it adds a fun edge to it all.

Re: Last Aunt Flo visit!

Yep, she made her presence known to me also. She came 5 days early! Guess she just wanted to make sure she got her full visit in before the surgery. Planning special evening tonight with hubby, as tomorrow I'm sure I will be a little grouchy, and hungry!
