Re: Scared and anxious: myomectomy recommended

Hi ladies.... I just had a laprascopic myomectomy 2 weeks ago and it hasn't been too bad. I had pain the first week but now feel pretty good. Its the best option if you want to keep your uterus or have kids. Try to find a good surgeon that does myomectomies laprascopically ... my surgeon says they can remove any size fibroids that way these days.
Good luck!

Re: Scared and anxious: myomectomy recommended

Hi, I was in your position 11 years ago. I had a myomectomy back in 2001 to remove multiple fibroids and enable me to have kids.

It's a good solution to preserve your uterus and ensure you can have kids in the future.

It does not seem that long ago, but technology has advanced a lot since my surgery. I had a vertical incision. Recovery really was not all that bad. After a couple weeks, I was doing pretty well. You have better options today than I did. ( I sound like I'm 90 instead of 41)

Good luck to you!

Diane
