less than 24 hours to go

Well, the countdown has begun, and I'm a nervous wreck. Tomorrow at this time I will be at the mercy of my Docs hands. Not so scared to have the procedure done (vaginal hysterectomy) but am terrifed to be put to sleep. I have thoughts that I won't wake up and that terrifies me. Is this normal?? My DH has been wonderful. He says everytime I get scared, to say a prayer. I do that, and I believe, but I'm still scared..............................

Yes, I do believe it is VERY normal to have this fear...I told my DH the same thing before I went in. Just keep real busy today..that was the best thing to do for me. I found it really helped my nerves. Also, keep praying...you will do fine. Just keep the faith that your doctor knows what he is doing...he/she performs many of these surgeries.

I hope that it is normal, as I am in the same boat with you. It sounds like you are doing the countdown thing also. I'm not looking forward to the less than 12 hours to go mark. I'm also having feeling of not waking up. However, I have to believe that tomorrow the 14 of us will be put out at our respective time and we'll all pull through and wake up with our glorious crowns. Just know that you are not alone. I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well.

Very Normal

This is very normal...and rightly so *S* I have great faith in God and in the medical staff who do these procedures day after day for years. They are highly skilled and when i went in they explained everything...were so kind and made sure I felt ok..the nurse held my hand as they started the anesthesia...I remained calm..and before I knew it? I was waking up....to more wonderful and kind nurses who were on me looking out for everything in my best interest.

Things will go fine...you will be nervous some...and go ahead and cry if you feel it...they are so supportive...

take care and soon you will be on your way to recovery *S*
