On period??

Hi,

I was just wondering something and my doc is out for 2 days so I thought I would post here.

The first day of my last period was 10/14 so I "should" have my next one on our around 11/10....my surgery is scheduled for 11/13 (but they might move that up if they can due to pain issues).

My question is this: can they still do the vaginal hyst if I'm on my period??

Thanks

Re: On period??

My dr. told me that it doesn't matter if you are having your period. Many other sisters stated that their dr.'s said the same thing. You'll go in with it and leave without. You'll be fine.

Re: On period??

Elura06,

I was supposed to have had my dvh/LAVH on Oct.5, I got cancelled in pre-op. I started bleeding really heavy on Oct.3, so when I got to the castle that morning I told the nurse who was prepping me, she said it happens all of the time, they put a big blue pad type thing under me, now in my case since I got cancelled it got kinda gross, since I had to get myself cleaned up to get re-dressed. So rest assured, you won't be cancelled, and that will be your last period. woo hoo

Re: On period??

Elura06,

Oh no, I'm sorry I forgot to explain, I got cancelled due to a temperature, of 101. I am sorry, it had nothing to do with the bleeding. Make sure you get your temp taken prior to getting the IV, I had everything done, and then the nurse takes my temp. Sorry to have freaked you out.

Re: On period??

I was starting another period on the date of my surgery ( severe cramps and pains and all that goes with it) they did not blink an eyelid, it did not matter it went ahead anyway, what a way to go!

Re: On period??

I had AF when I went in to get my tubes tied. They just made sure I wasn't wearing a tampon. I don't think it would make a difference since they are taking it out anyway.
