aching breasts and wound healing

Hi everyone...:new:

Just thought I would introduce myself. I live in london and had a total abdominal hysterectomy on 6th feb due to precancerous cells that were found in my uterus. The surgery went very well indeed and the recovery process has not been too bad.
I received the results of my biopsy last week and thankfully i am in the clear. Those precancerous cells remained precancerous. I am so grateful !!!! It looks like that the consultant took out the uterus and cervix in time.
I am now focusing on the healing process. I try to me mobile but i am make sure that i balance any activity with rest. also have been doing my pelvic exercises regularly. Have also been paying attention attention to my posture when I walk.
My incision has healed nicely but the drainage area is still a bit sore . Also my breasts ache sometimes...maybe this is because i still have my ovaries. Has anyone had similar problems?

Re: aching breasts and wound healing

I have the same problem!! Talked to the doc at 6 week post op appointment and he said it is normal. I have TAH (kept overies) Jan 6, 2010.
Doc said that because I kept the overies they tend to get honkerblonked off post op and over produce hormones then in turn there is breast tenderness.
Hope that helped
