Anybody else thinking of hiring a cleaning lady?

I'm seriously considering it because if I have to relax and rest after my surgery, it's going to drive me dotty-bonkers to look at the messy house. Hubby does do some things (dishes, laundry) but I want someone to come in and vacuum, clean the kitchen and baths. Anyone else thinking about this? I wonder how much it costs.

Anybody else thinking of hiring a cleaning lady?

I hired a cleaning lady and it was a great decision. I could just rest and not feel guilty because there were dust dinosauers all over the place. My husband did a great job but not the thorough cleaning it needs with a dog and cat. I paid her $50/week and it was well worth it. I am six weeks post-op and she comes every other week now. I am not sure I want to get rid of her!! LOL

Anybody else thinking of hiring a cleaning lady?

I hired a cleaninig lady about a month ago and it has been a wonderful experience. It's SO nice to come home to a nice clean house and the wonderful smells of bleach and Pine Sol. My husband was opposed to the idea at first. Now, he says he doesn't see how we ever lived without her. With two small children and a full time job the house cleaning was always falling through the cracks. Now everybody is happy. My lady charges $70.00 each visit and comes every Thursday. I think everybody should have somebody. It's a life changing experience.

Anybody else thinking of hiring a cleaning lady?

I pay my cleaning lady 60. It is just the DH, myself and two dogs.
She makes everything like a hotel room! It is worth the expense. I can't imagine my DH scrubbing the toliet. It is worth it not to have issues over cleaning.

Anybody else thinking of hiring a cleaning lady?

I got one just before surgery and I don't know what I would have done without her. It saved me nagging my husband and worrying about things piling up.
Now I am back to work I have kept her on. It is now lovely to come home to a nice clean house . Well worth the money if you can afford it.
In the UK I pay her £6 per hour plus her bus fares.

cleaning lady

Good morning ladies,

Yesterday was a year I had my hysterectomy! In the beginning my Mom, siisers and friends came in to help clean. (Husband and son have no interest in helping). My Mom got me a "temporary" cleaning lady. A year later and I still have her. She comes in 2x a month and deserves alot more than what she charges. I usually round her pay off to the highest amount I can. I have to stay in line as to what others around here pay her, but I uusally tip her what I can. It is so worth it. If you can work it into your budget and find someone you trust, go for it. It does take alot of stress off me to have the house done right. Best of luck to all those preparing for surgery. I can tell you, this year went by so very fast. After you make an informed decision to go through with Hysterectomy, pray and go for it! After 1 year, it has finally sunk in no more heavy periods, although I still have issues with alittle "leaking" after peeing, gone are the heavy periods, clots, and terrible backahes. I will always advise others that this has to be their decision. I will tell you, when the Dr sets limits for you, please, please, always obey them. By not doing what he/she recommends, we only hurt ourselves and recovery. I am still very careful about lifting, and try not to get overtired. We , as women, are pushing ourselves to the limits, if we do not take care of ourselfs, we eventually burnout. Remember to allow yourselfs to go with the different emotions you may feel and just take time for you. When I first started back to work, the evenings were mine. I do not regret taking that time for me. Well I could ramble on and on. Basically, take care of you. I felt my recovery was"my time". Best of luck to all of you and here is to good health for all the hyster sisters! Hugs
