Cellulitis

Thought my recovery fevers were normal... Just found out I got cellulitis! I called dr after taking temp at 101.4 he told me to go to ER. The internal exam was scary but everything looked normal but the dr found an area on abdomen of cellulitis. So has anyone else experienced this? Sounds scary! Thanks for Any and all input

Re: Cellulitis

It will get cleared up with antibiotics.

I'd gotten some tiny bug bites picking figs in the backyard while undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. When I went to the ER 2 days later, I was hooked to the IV for more than an hour.

It caused 'lymphedema' on my right arm because I had lost 11 lymphnodes on that side from the BC surgeries. Now I wear compression sleeve and glove everyday.

Re: Cellulitis

Dear Judith2010,

how are you now? I had cellulitis on my right leg last Sept and was hospitalised for two and a half weeks. It was a slow recovery for me. I was on hospitalisation leave for 8 weeks. I still have dark patches on my right leg now. Doctor said it will take a long time for these patches to go away.

Re: Cellulitis

The ER docs thought it might be that but my obgn doesn't think it was cellulitis. I stopped taking the antibiotic because it turns out I was allergic. I am doing much better now! Sorry you hear you had to be hospitalized with it!
