August the 23rd is my day for a toh. I am not as worried about me as I am my family. I am 31 and have 2 children who play sports. School starts August the 27th and it is also my daughters 6th birthday. Although I have a wonderful family to help I am so afraid that I have forgotten something. All of your message have been a wealth of information and support. Thank you all!

Just take a deep breath and relax.I was also worried about my family when i went in for my hyster 4 weeks ago.Everything will turn out okay.The house will still be there and your kids will still go to school.Make sure you have gotten all there school supplis so you dont have to run out and get any at the last minute.As far as your daughters b-day,if you havent planned anything yet it may have to wait until after you have been home a few weeks and feel up to comany like that.Just explain to her that you have not forgotten and you will have a party or something special real soon.She is still young and im sure she will understand.You are almost there and on the other side.You will be on the road to recovery soon and everything will be behind you.I wish you an uneventful and speedy recovery.Good luck.

Hello and welcome to hystersisters mslucky. Don't worry about forgetting something...it'll all work out. My roommate at the hospital had her birthday while she was there and her family brought her a cake up to the room and had a small party. It was very nice. Maybe you could celebrate in the hospital with your daughter too. Pack a special little present in your overnight bag so you can give it to her at the hospital. It'll be a birthday both of you will remember

I made list after list of things to get done prior to surgery...even had lists for my kids and dh. Just do what you can and leave the rest. After surgery you'll be totally focused on recovery...AND we'll be right here with you.

PS - My kids play sports too...if you have access to camcorder have someone record the games you can't go to...and watch them at home with your kids. That way you won't miss anything and the kids can tell you all about the game while you're resting.
