Friday surgery finally(children mentioned)

I have had other issues that had to be taken care of first before anyone would to my total hysto. It was keep an eye on the cysts and get a vaginal ultrasound every three months to be sure they didnt look like they were getting solid.. So I have been waiting for a year to see if I have cancer or precancer. I do feel it is prob not cancer but I was taking tamoxifen for breast cancer post care.. And started showing signs of the side effect which is ovarian cancer.. yeah funny isn't it.. meds for cancer that cause other cancers.. same with my radiation..sigh..
So last aug i had most of my pancreas and a total spleen removal, now that surgery was tough.. the worst yet..still have muscle spasms but that was my second abdominal surgery. It is part of the reason I can not have a lap for my hysto.. now i will have a scar from my sternum to my hair line... lol I have a long one on my leg from hip replacement and i need the other done I also have a neck scar from removal of my thyroid..lol.. yes I am a scar garden..lol
I am not scared I just want it over and to get better. I am tired of waiting for test results.. and when you have had cancer twice let me say that even an inkling of it returning is scary.. so I will press on have yet again another major surgery and try to recover in time to have a vacation in late June.. I dont have much choice this summer to go visit my hubbies parents in Canada so long 9 hour drive.. but I dont have to stay in a hotel and she cooks..lol so its mostly the drive..lol I should be ok by then
but none of this even compares to the loss of my 26 yr old son April 12th.. i know its soon but i need to get this over with and i know he will be with me.. have to stop thinking about not having more children and moving past that..
taking care of the two girls I do have yet..
so really this pain coming is nothing to what I have had in the past few weeks.. I am ready..
when you have to do something like this and you really have no choice I have found in life that it is better to just try to deal with it and try to recover.. I know its hard but we have to try because what else is our option right.. Sorry I am a little depressed but its not the surgery.. I am ready i have one docs appt on wed with my pcp and I am half packed or so..
I did want to say thank you to all the girls here that run the show and all of you ladies that post here.. I am so glad that I found this site.. I really have felt at home and have learned a few things I didn't know and even with my past surgeries I have found answers to questions i didnt even know I had here..lol..
I hope all the other post ops that go before me this week have good outcomes and fast speedy recoveries.. and those after me the same when their time comes for their ops..Have a good week ladies.. I will be here off and on but I had to tell you gals this stuff before the week goes on because it will get busy later on ..

I'm so sorry for the loss of your son, and sorry to hear about all the problems you've been having. Fingers crossed that this and your other hip replacement are the last surgeries for you.

Re: Friday surgery finally(children mentioned)

Lady Lisa-wow! I am so sorry for your loss and all that you have been through. I really hope the next two surgeries go well and then that's it!
I just wanted to tell you that I was having what I thought to be a "bad day," until I read you're story. Now, I have worked in an oncology practice and also have seen my mother pass away from a malignant brain tumor. Cancer patients always amaze me. You are so strong , and so, well, humbled I guess. It just makes me realize that there are other things that could be worse than my petty issues. Just need quit worrying and enjoy life...I wish you the VERY best of luck and I hope that everything turns out OK. Is your breast CA in remission?

Re: Friday surgery finally(children mentioned)

My gosh honey, My heart just broke. I cannot fathom dealing with all of this AND the loss of a child. I lost my first born son at 5 days old and that nearly killed me. I just cannot imagine what you have gone through. So so sorry, but u r an inspiration! One tough lady. Lots of hugs your way!

Re: Friday surgery finally(children mentioned)

We are scheduled for the same day. I don't know if I am losing my ovaries or not. Doc said it depends on what she finds. I am having the transvaginal with laproscopic assistance and if she finds endometriosis on my ovaries I will have to have them removed too. Not sure how I feel about that but I kinda think it would be wise because I have a history of breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer in my family. Mostly my grandma, I don't want to face that because I don't know if I can handle that. It takes a strong person to make it through that and I'm not sure I'm that strong. I admire you for all you have been through and I'm sending thoughts and prayers your way and I will be thinking of you before I go into the OR at 7am CST Friday May 20th. I would like to keep in touch with you and have you as my friend.
