If you kept your ovaries did you still...
Feel Ovulation pain at the time of Ovulation?
I am keeping my ovaries, and I usually always have and feel the ovulation pain, to where it is painful, was wondering if I will still feel this once I have my hysterectomy?

Hey, Shelley.
That's a good question. Hopefully one of our post-op sisters will stop by and answer. I'm going to piggy-back off your question and ask if you still get PMS symptoms when you ovulate after hysterectomy. I'm having a TAH on 3/14 and will hopefully be able to keep my ovaries.
I'm hoping that there will be no more PMS or pain during ovulation - keeping my fingers crossed!

I had a TAH and kept overies and yes i still get pms- mostly mine has been increased anxiety, some bloating and muscle soreness.
I find I just mark my calendar just like i did when i had a period. (mine were always like clock work and the pms still is.)
oh one good thing- it only last like two/three days tops and havent noticed the real crabbiness of it all.

if you have painful ovulation before, you can definitely have it after. i do. some months i dont notice and some are as bad as before my lsh. i never had bad pms but did notice some the first few months. once i got used to not having a period and keeping track of my cycles, everything has pretty much blended together now and most times i dont know where i am in my cycle. good luck

I've not noticed the painful ovulation, which I had before.
I have noticed breast tenderness and some bloating. Oh well. At least I don't have 10 days of cramps anymore.

I kept my ovaries & occasionally I get the tender breasts, but not always. I've never had too many problems before so I don't really deal with much else.
