Spinal or General?

I am curious on 'sisters' experiences with spinal or general?
I am supposed to have a spinal. I had a unpleasant experience with general in the past...... =-X
I have never had a spinal and am looking for some feedback on this topic.

I don't think I'd be able to handle having a spinal. Do they give you something to calm your nerves? Head phones to drown out the sounds going on around you? I've heard some people here talking about having a spinal, but I think I'd be too afraid to be awake, my favorite part is going to sleep and not having to deal with the anxiety.

They can give something toyou so you can sleep during the surgery and someting to wake you up when it is done and it is not as deep as the general would be. If you do a seach on general vs spinal I think you will find some great threads about this. This is a frequent question so don't feel like it is just you.
