I need some support

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site but I thought maybe someone would have some words of wisdom for me. I'm scheduled to go to the doctor next week since I haven't been officially diagnosed with anything yet but I have all of the symptoms of a rectocele. But my concern is this: I'm only 18 years old, and I definitely want to have children some day. I'm really worried about complications from the problems I'm having. I know that my doctor will address these concerns but I'd like to talk to other women who have been through this. So if anyone has any thoughts, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Tara

Doctors can do "repairs" without affecting your fertility. This shouldn't be a problem. There are degrees of rectocele; some women simply use a pessary to control it; my MIL has used one for years because she won't have surgery no matter what. So far, it's worked well for her. But even if you end up in surgery, it should be a fairly simply surgery (although I hear the recovery is a bit painful).

Hi (((Tara))),
I'm sorry to hear of your symptoms and possible rectocele diagnosis
I was dx'd with one a couple years ago..mine occured after my Hyst along with a Vaginal Vault Prolapse due to weakened support. My symptoms have improved through some lifestyle & diet changes along with doing kegals religiously, lol..
Luckily, I havent had to undergo any repairs yet It can depend on the severity of the prolapse along with symptoms patient is experiencing as to the treatments, if any is needed at the time. So I have no personal experiences to share. I did however want to share some links with you that contains info into this condition along with treatment options for it:

Good Luck at your upcoming appt Hopefully your Dr will have some answers and relief! Please let us know how it goes...(((hugs)))
