How soon after surgery can I get my hormone levels tested? (I have type one diabetes, Hashimoto's and Addison's disease)

I'll be getting a TLH (but keeping ovaries) this fall and I'm trying to learn and research as much as I can before the surgery because I have type one diabetes, Hashimoto's and Addison's disease. The surely itself will be carefully planned and monitored by my OBGYN as well as my endocrinologist so I'm not too worried about my safety although there are always potential risks for any type one diabetic going under compete anesthesia.

I have PCOS (only one of the many reasons I'm getting a TLH) and am currently on continuous birth control (YAZ) so that I dont have my period at all (when I do the blood loss is so severe I quickly become anemic and start fainting). I know that my estrogen and progesterone are currently suppressed due to being on the BCP but once I go off it and have my surgery I want to be extremely proactive in seeing where my hormone levels are and plan to supplement with bioidentical cream compounds if needed.

How soon can I get my hormone levels tested after my surgery? I dont get to see my OBGYN surgeon again until August and will obviously ask hi about this too but I'm a planner and want to start planning all the post op stuff now!

Hi ashabrown -

This probably is really something to ask your doctor, as it can really vary from patient to patient. This is especially true given your other medical conditions.

We do have lots of ladies on this site, so maybe ones with similar heath histories will see this post and respond.
