Re: Is it true about sex?

Not cleared for intercourse yet but am allowed to orgasm. With external stimulation they are about twice as quick, twice as long, feel different without a uterus but not bad different. We are counting the days until I am cleared for intercourse, my sex drive hasn't diminished, in fact, it's more like it was when I was healthy.

I'm so glad to hear these good stories. I've searched online regarding sex drive after a hysterectomy and you hear BAD things.
Thanks everyone for sharing!

Re: Is it true about sex?

My husband talked to his work about needing some time off for my hysterectomy, the lady in the office over heard him and began telling him how she had one two years ago. He asked her the same question... She says her sex life is sooooo much better. she raved about how I am going to love having this done. according to her it changed her sex life for the much better.

Re: Is it true about sex?

It's definitely not the death of your sex life. But realistically it's good to prepare yourself for some differences. There are no guarantees with this surgery. I find sex post op to require patience. The big o is still there but not as big without the intense uterine contractions. The sex drive is the same once the pain from surgery diminishes.

Re: Is it true about sex?

All's I can say is that I have been bleeding badly for 7 months now and have not been intimate with my husband except once and that led to an ER visit (talk about traumatic for both of us). As soon as this -insert expletive- uterus is out and I am all healed, it's on like donkey kong. lol I can't WAIT to be able to experience all parts of my marriage.

Improved 300xs!

Way too painful before, and constant bleeding was a huge turn off.

True, no cervix needed! >wink<

Re: Is it true about sex?

I'm no longer fearful after reading this thread. Of course I googled and found soooo much negative. I'm hopeful once again!
