So confused!

I'm really confused on what to do next? or how to even start looking at my choices before I see the surgeon on Friday.

After not having a period in 10 years and now finding out I have atypia cells in my uterus with intrauterine neoplasia. I can't find any information on this. Has anyone heard of this? She did put me on Progesterone for a while, to try and kick start a period. Then took it off when the results came back. The surgeon wanted to see me right away on Friday. since stopping the progesterone I have some blood when I wipe but not on my pad.
I have been in pain for so many years I just want it to stop. and getting this answers at 29 years old I thin is confusing me more.

Please if anyone has any information please help!

I am sorry to hear you have all this going on. A couple of questions for you and you might have to call your Dr. about it.

DId your Dr call it Endometrial Intraepithelia Neoplasia? If so this is sometimes referenced as EIN and it has different levels of severity EIN1 to EIN3. EIN3 is considered to be cancer in situ, means cancer in place so that is the earliest possible cancer.

Also since you are talking about atypical cells if the Dr says something like complex hyperplasia with atypia that is also a pre-cancerous condition.

Although this link talks about risks for uterine cancer as being age and post menopausal it is being seen in younger women some believe because another risk factor is weight. Anyway this also talks about treatment options Endometrial lesions

At some point, possibly after you talk talk to your surgeon you may want to come over to the Cancer Concerns forum. There are ladies there with various pre-cancers and cancers. They are knowledgeable and supportive.

Re: So confused!

Thank you so much. Yes she said it was Endometrial Intraepithelia Neoplasia She said at first she thought these test results from biopsy were going to come back ok. because both my blood test and pap came back clear no cancer. But then Biopsy came back with atypia cells which she said were precancerous cells.
She really didn't discuss to much, only that she had already consulted with the surgeon and he wanted to see me last Friday but she had not even talked with me until this Monday the 28th.
Thank you so much for your information.
I'm pretty nervous and scared.

Being scared when you hear any form of the "C" word is absolutely normal. Your world sort of stops at that point until you get things under control.

One thing you will want to do is to make sure that you are being seen by a gynecological oncologist if one is in your area.

It sounds like everything is very early stage so hopefully you will get your information on Friday and be able to take some time to get digest it. Sounds like your Dr wants to get you into surgery. Here are a list of questions you might want to review and determine which ones to take to your Drs appointment Cancer Diagnosis questions

I also highly recommend that you take someone with you or take some form of a tape recorder so you can replay what is said. I can guarantee that at some point your mind will go blank because you will be thinking "this can't be happening to me".

We are here for you.
