going back to work tomorrow, one day shy of 7 weeks post hysterectomy

Tomorrow's my big day...back to work. And boy do I feel NOT ready. And found out they fired one person from my department and my lead is going to be out because of serious illness in his family. So, they are going to expect me to be in charge??? Ugh! I'm not even allowed to lift over 10 pounds per the doctor note for 2-3 weeks. Drive an hour to get there and an hour back with 8 1/2 hours in between....sure piece of cake NOT!!!

Going to be a longgggggg day

Re: going back to work tomorrow, one day shy of 7 weeks post op

I plan to go back at 6 weeks and not looking forward to it. My boss quit January 1 and I've had to fill in until my surgery. Yuck. Now I have a new boss when I get back. Three weeks to go.

Re: going back to work tomorrow, one day shy of 7 weeks post op

I am heading back this Saturday, after 6 and a half weeks, and not looking forward to it either. I think I have just become a bit accustomed to a rather sedentary lifestyle, and once I get back into it I will be fine.
at the end of the day, we have to do what we have to do if we want to keep our jobs (within reason). I have night shifts the week after which will be a struggle to stay awake
good luck and I hope your return to work goes well

I went back to work 2 weeks after my surgery and still feel great. I'm 6 weeks post op. I'm back to the gym and even taking exercise classes.

You'll do great! Listen to your body

Deb
I am going on my 3rd week back after 6 weeks. I feel your pain and responsibilities. It was overwhelming for me my first week. I was exhausted and swollen by days end. Take it easy and be sure to get your rest. This weekend for you may be a sleepy I need my rest kind of weekend. Had some weird pains 2nd week because I over did the walking with heavy steel toed shoes on. This week so much better. So take care of you and know you can only get so much done for you.....and everyone else....in a day. Wishing you well!
