One last vaginal cuff stitch?
Hi everyone~
I am 12 weeks past my TAH, RSO and have had a very smooth recovery. I have had a couple of unusual sensations with my vaginal cuff though. This is the week that I would have been menstruating and it almost feels like I am having a bit of a phantom period. Just before it would have started, my cuff had little pains--as if the nerves were really waking up big time. Now it's as if my vagina is tender, almost like it is telling my non-existant uterus to bring on the blood. Also, while my stitches were healing I had that brownish discharge that so many people have, but that ended about 7 weeks ago. It feels like maybe I had one last little bit of healing to do because yesterday and today I had the tiniest bit of clear discharge with a speck of old blood mixed in, just like I had for over three weeks as I was healing. It's not even enough to end up on my underwear; it's just noticeable when I wipe. I was swabbed for infection when I first started having the discharge. I had no infections. It was just a normal part of my healing process. Has anyone else had a stitch take this long to finally dissolve? Has anyone had cuff tenderness during the menstrual part of their cycle? Thanks ladies!!!

Hi cmtsp - yes, when I went for my 8 week post-op appointment I was told that I still had a stitch that hadn't dissolved, although I wasn't aware of it as I'd had no symptoms. My Gyn cauterised it with silver nitrate and as far as I know, it has now healed OK as I'm not having any symptoms to make me think otherwise. Best wishes.

Could just be overdoing, have you overdone before this happened?
