Re: My surgery is in March 11.And now I have migraines everyday.

Hi,

Did you keep your ovaries? I've read that sometimes hormone fluctuations can cause migraines. Even when women keep their ovaries, their hormones can be out of wack and takes time to normalize again. If the migraines don't subside, then I would definitely call your doc and inform them of your migraines.

I've had a lot of migraines in my life time...not fun! I can't say that they have increased since my surgery. I did keep my ovaries.

Hope you feel better soon. You are in my prayers!

God bless,
Suzy

I also had surgery on 3/11 and have been having headaches and/or migraines for the last four days. My doc said headaches are not uncommon after surgery, so I'm figuring it is normal for now.
Feel better,
Colleen

Yes! I have headaches everyday and sometimes they've turned into migraines. I ended up in the ER last Friday the pain and vomiting were so bad. They gave if Dilaudin (sp?) and and anti nausea med which was great.

I'm so sorry you're experiencing your pain. My doctor switched me to a different migraine med which I haven't taken yet. Since I can't take Ibuprofen, she also gave me 2 different pain meds--one for tension headaches and good old Percocet if the other 2 don't work. The headaches are still there all the time --I wake up with one and go to bed with one--but they're not as bad as when I was on HRT.

I'm so sick (literally) of this. I was on Premarin since my surgery and forgot to take it for a few days and noticed my headaches lessened. Then I started it again, and whammy! The headache pain was so intense. My doc told for some people's migraines get better with HRT but some get worse.

I've been having insomnia, too. I will ave to deal with the hot flashes and mood fluctuations instead of the HRT. I'm going to whole foods grocery tomorrow to check out some natural estrogen replacement and to get some melatonin as well (it's 2:30 am now!).

My surgery was Jan. 31 and I have not ovaries. Did you keep yours? Let me know how your headaches are doing and if they get better or worse and what treatment works for you.

Good luck!
Lisa
