LAVH: Abdominal Support Binder?

I've be reading up on all of the pre-op tips and things to bring to the hospital etc (thanks everyone!!) and I was wondering if anyone that had a LAVH found the abdominal support binder helpful or is it more for abdominal surgeries? Did you need the tummy support for a VH?

I had an LAVH and I definitely needed my binder. They didn't give me one so I had to ask for it - I'm not sure if they don't generally offer one for VH's? I needed it most for sleeping - I am a side sleeper and I was having difficulty sleeping without the support. It's also helpful when riding home in the car and getting up to walk around. I think everyone is a little different - some don't like the binder at all. I had one for a prior surgery and loved it.

I remember when I had my tubal ligation..it was laparoscopic, and I remember feeling like my guts were going to fall out. I didn't have a binder then. But I've already ordered one and plan to use it based on that experience. I'm sure that even though I'm having an LAVH, it is much more invasive internally and that I will be much more comfortable with one.
