TVH with repairs upcoming

I had a TVH with repairs for bladder and uterine prolapse, on 2/15. Due to the repairs, sitting and having a BM were my biggest hurdles. My bleeding lasted 3 weeks, nothing since.
I continue to have periods of lower abdominal aching even at 6weeks especially if I try to do too much such as bending over and twisting to get in & out of the car. I can't stress REST enough. Best of luck.

Hi Ladies. Tomorrow will be 3 wks. post op for me. LAVH. I don't have any pain now, I've been off the pain meds. for a little over a week. The last couple of days I really feel like I'm getting my energy back.

I think the key for me was resting alot the first week. I also took my pain meds. on schedule so I was never very uncomfortable. I got some great tips on this site. One of them was to buy stool softener before I went for surgery. I started taking that right away, along with a fiber rich diet and didn't have any problems "going", which seems to be a big issue here.

I bought a wedge pillow at Bed, Bath and Beyond. With that and a few regular bed pillows I could really get comfortable in bed. So that's where I stayed for most of the first wk.

I walked around the house every few hrs. and by day 10 I was ready to try walking outside. The first day I only walked about .25 mi. and I could feel some pulling and pinching. Today (only 10 days later) I am up to 2.5 miles and feeling good.

Just take it slow, take care of yourselves, you'll probably feel better sooner than you think.

Hey Musiclver and luvtolearn,

Just wanted to say hello. I noticed my surgery date is one day after you both. Looking forward to healing together and chatting after it's all over.

Hopefully there is an end in sight. This website is a godsend - all you fantastic ladies out there who can guide us newbies through this daunting process.

Hi Wendy,

My surgery is one day before yours ... welcome! I agree this website is wonderful! I would be lost without it ... thanks everyone!
Just wanted to ask if you have any idea what type of hyst you are having yet?
Looking forward to recovering together online.

Hugs,
Tracy

I am so nervous. I don't handle pain well. But I will be so glad once its all done and over with.
I guess we really will be all recovering together! Looks like quite a few of us will be in surgery that week.
Good luck girls!

I had the same procedure almost 3 weeks ago. It was hard at first with pain but now it is only minor discomfort unless I overdue it. Talk with your doctor about pain control before hand if your nervous. There are many different ways of handling it. If you are having problems afterward then don't hesitate to talk with the nurses and tell them it isn't working. There are other options.

Good luck,

Pam
