I cried myself to sleep!

You are "Still Sexy"!!!

Kristi,

Everybody fights....it's s completly normal with all of the stress that you are under right now.

Don't beat yourself up too much right now (or the prince :-)
Who do we normally take things out on we are stressed?
(our partners or our moms)

You are scared and have alot on your plate - it's okay and completely normal.

Men...what can I say? He is probably as freaked out as you are, but they do not always knwo how to say or verbalize what they are feeling or what to say to make "US" feel better.

Our Prince will never know all of the things that our in hearts with facing a Hysterectomy....they can't understand because they are not women.
(Thank God for this website and the support of our sisters)

I am glad you cried...maybe it was what you needed to get things out :-)

Try not to be too scared Princess...the anxiety is way worse than the surgery.

I drove everybody around me crazy and wanted to tell them to all "F-off"!
I postponed my surgery 2 times.

Now that it is behind me I am so much more relaxed and better.

Please email back and keep us posted....there are alot of good people here.

I have many helpful hints for you too, to prepare and get everything ready for before and when you get home.

Hang in there.
Love & Peace
Princess Urf

Here are some helpful Hints to get Ready

Dear Kristi - "Im Still Sexy"

I am trying to think of some ways to help reduce your stress (a little)

Sounds like the Mouse Ears are the best idea!
Just thing of all the smiles you will bring to those who are also having a procedure and the nurses will love you!

I did my TAH 3 weeks ago, so this what I learned that may help.

1. Clean the house and scrub things, like blinds and floors.
(you will not be able to do this until early Decemeber)
GOTTA THINK 6 WEEKS OUT!

2. Go food shopping and stock-up on all your favorite comfort foods and other items (buy 2 of what you normally buy 1)

***My Prince has not been good with going to the food store since my surgery***

3. You know your house - take the thing that you want and MOVE them to waist level
(you will NOT be able to bend down and get them)
- this means refrigerator
- kitchen cabinets
- your clothes drawers
- your linen closet
- your "Windex" bottle for wiping-off the counters or kitchen table

4. Go to Target: Buy a "Body Pillow" it will help you sleep and get out of bed
(and protect you in case your husband rolls over and tries to spoon you).

5. get a small pillow for your stomach (to protect it)
something like a couch pillow
****you will need this for the RIDE HOME***
(I still take mine eveywhere)

Most Important - Ask your doctor for an EPIDORAL

It is a Miracle Drug!

I awoke from Surgery with no pain and NEVER PUKED!

My roommate at the Castle did not get one and suffered all night!

(call your doctor ahead of time and request this)

Love & Peace

I cried myself to sleep!

I forget one last thing!

Buy a "Gopher" at Target also (like $10)
You will not be able to bend down and pick things up!

This will help you get something dropped or cant reach in a cabinet.

Also but some "Gas-X" take it for the first week after the surgery and NO DAIRY (it makes gas pains)

Love Sister

The Car Ride Home?

This was the worst part!

Every bump and every time the Prince breaked I felt it (-:

I could not wear underwear, so I bought a loose fitting "sundress" "moo-moo" for the ride home (NO PANTS)

Also, I did NOT wear a seatbelt...I just held the small pillow over my belly.

I took one of those "bed pads" from the hospital to put on the car seat.

Try and take some of these home - they are good for the bed, in case you cant make it to the bathroom in time.

Also remember, use your ARMS and THIGHS when getting out of bed.

I woke the Prince up everynight for 2 weeks for "Pottie Trips"

Love,
Urf

I cried myself to sleep!

Just thought I would throw this in.... One thing I am famous for in my arguments, (Everyone said I should be a lawyer cause I love to debate) I turn things around on people. Not in a bad way, for example. Sit down and have a calm talk with hubby. Tell him how you are feeling and how things he has said makes you feel. This will give him the chance to say something like I didn't mean it that way I meant___. At which time you can say something like, I'm sure you would have some of the same feelings I am having if you were set to have your testicles removed. Now you have put things into his lap and forced him to hopefully look at things from your point of view. Hope that helps a little.
Just remember, talk in a calm none aggresive way and you will get great results.
