Outdoor Gathering W/Friends - How soon ?

Just wondering from the Veteran hyst ladies. How long before you felt up to hosting a gathering w/ your friends? I dont mean a full dinner, but thought about doing a 'popcorn bar' by the creek. Kinda of a country gathering and some could bring ice and drinks. Just something easy in the spring w/ a campfire and some stars, adults only, and disposable goods. I always keep a picnic basket of paper goods ready to go.

If it is something you enjoy and would lift your spirits, then go. BUT, let your friends do the work - the food, supplies. The only thing you should supply at this point is your company. I would also caution if the walk to the site is long, maybe consider somewhere where you don't have to walk so much. You might be pretty worn out after and that is ok.

I agree. If it makes you feel better go for it but I would let your friends do all the work this time *smiles*. When I was five weeks post op I went out with my bestie just for some shopping (which for me was just for the walking ) and lunch. Later that night my tummy was swollen, cramping and exhausted. Just listen to your body and I would not try to get to far away from the car so if you do get to feeling poorly you dont have a long hike back to it. Good luck!
