I am now 3 weeks post-op Hysterectomy

Just checking in to say hi. I am 3 weeks post-op and will go back to work next week. Feeling good, still some pangs, and some lower abdominal pain which we think is related to my digestion, actually. I have scheduled an apt with a gastroenterologist. Yes, I am ready to be well...

Re: I am now 3 weeks post-op

You and I share the same surgery date. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy with vertical incision and had everything taken except my ovaries. While I still have days (usually every other day) where I get extremely tired and have to nap, I have been able to do a lot more in the last few days. Today was the first day I have cleaned house. Over the past 3 weeks I have only been doing some light cleaning and a little laundry. My husband just left today for a 5 day business trip so I am on my own keeping up the house and kids this week. Good luck going back to work next week.

Re: I am now 3 weeks post-op Hysterectomy

I had everything removed uterus and "the girls" - ovaries taken. I feel better until I push things too much. And I feel a little guilty being home without doing much. I had to go back into the hospital twice with an infection, so I suppose I am allowed!

I try to live my life with gratitude, so the week before I had a "YOLO" week that was wonderful. Post-op has been harder, of course. Especially when I ended up back in the hospital for 4 days.

I still have some stabbing abdominal pain on my left side... wondering about that..

Hang in there - do what makes your body happy.

Peace
Shannon

Re: I am now 3 weeks post-op Hysterectomy

I had my surgery on the 16th. I had more energy today too. Hubby was thinking I could do more too since he was being a little critical. I took it easy though.
I will vote on Tuesday and go to the resale/goodwill to take some items.
