Question about the ovaries

My doctor has indicated that he believes my ovaries are staying with me. He will of course check them out to be sure that everything looks good and will make the final decision at that time.

My question is this. I currently take birth control to "control" cysts and fibroid. After my surgery, I won't be on the pill anymore. Am I going to have to worry about cysts happening?

I forgot to ask this and I will call him with this question, but I thought someone here might have an answer.

There have been ladies who develop ovarian cysts post op.

Whether you will or not I can't say.

Your Dr, since he knows your medical history, would be in a better position to know your chances of developing cysts post op.

I am in exactly the same situation as you. I want to keep my one ovary, but not if I'm going to keep having these !@#$% cysts when I go off the pill. My pre-op is tomorrow...thank you for adding a question to my list so I can ask the doc!
