I am home

Well everything went great. The Dr. took my uterus, and tubes. I will get the pathology report after my first follow up visit. I felt pretty darn good yesterday morning, went and got my prescription, and a few other things, walked around quite a bit.

Let me tell you though, just because you feel good the next day, does not mean you can run around so quickly like I did. I paid for it all yesterday afternoon.

The gas pains are the worst of it all. I have had two other surgeries, and the pain was much worse with them. However I did learn something from the last two, which helped tremendously this time. Make sure you take a stool softner a couple of days before the surgery. It makes your first bathroom trip easier. I was also surprised to find that I was completely shaved!

Well this is as long as I can sit here. I will post later when I am feeling more up to it.

great news

That is great that you are home and feeling so good. And feeling bad the second day may have nothing to do with 'overdoing'-it may be that things are waking up and not as numb.

I also never had any gas, so don't know about that. I bought gas-x for it as advised on this site, but never used it. Anyone want some?

welcome

Glad to read you doing well . You might want to try some peppermint tea it has worked well though two prior surgeries that cause gas. I have already packed my tea. As soon as i can drink i start with that tea. Just remember to take it slow

I am home

Glad your home...Had my surgery on 8/9. Felt so good the day after surgery compared to coming out of recovery, I felt I over did it also. Today is my first FULL day at home and without the pain meds I feel probably the worst of my three days post op. But in many ways each day is 10 times better.

Had minimal gas pains so I feel thankful, and sad for those of you that have them bad...I could understand how they are as bad as the surgery pain. Take it easy to you all!
