Belly Button Ring!!

I am pre op and read this post because I too have a belly button ring I wanted to keep. I immediately went to ebay and typed in ACRYLIC PIERCING RETAINER and up popped several options. I bought a set of 5 curved acrylic retainers 16 guage for 4.99 + 3.99 sh. you can get them cheaper if you just buy a single one. I love ebay it is so easy and fast to buy things there and I pay via paypal. If you don't have paypal just go to paypal and sign up. This will enable you to pay online safetly even if you don't have a credit card. You do need a bank account at least though. Ebay sellers also accept checks money orders and well hidden cash. Good luck!

Belly Button Ring!!

Most surgeons will not allow you to keep in the retainer during surgery. The longer you've had your piercing the better off you will be but after 7 years there shouldn't be any problems. I've had mine for 12 years (God how time goes by) and have had it out for 4 years and can still put a ring back it. My husband can still put in his (not going into detail about where they are!) after 3 years. If your worried just take it out right before surgery and have someone replace it for you afterwards. Over all you should be fine!

Most head shops, tattoo shops, Pacsun or Hottopic at the mall will carry the retainers.

Belly Button Ring!!

I've always used a placstic ring for MRIs and sx. No problem. They usually have put a piece of tape over it anyway so they don't snag it. Good idea!! I'm not leaving mine out. I did it once for only a few days and it was murder getting it back in cause the hole shrank. Those kiosks in the malls with pierced jewelry always have plastic ones. Good luck!!
