Finally home from hospital:(

Hi everyone! As you all know my hysterectomy was last Wed Oct 25th. Well, the surgery seemed to go well. But then Thursday night I started to internally bleed massively and both my lungs collapsed therefore went back into ER for operation it was touch and go for a bit but I made it through. I was in ICU until Monday. I just came home this morning. I have a long recovery ahead of me with the hysterectomy and everything else that went wrong. I know this happens very rarely but let me tell you..I'm not opting for surgery again in my life unless it comes down to life or death. My family and kids almost lost me last week and that will for a long time haunt me. There is more to the story but like I said I just came home and get very weak very quickly. My dr has a at home nurse that is going to help me with recovering and have resporatory (sp) therapist and physical therapist. Will be a long road but I'm just glad to be here and will do anything. Will post more when I can. Love you all and miss you.

Oh you poor dear!!! Thanks to God you survived this!!!!!!!!! I was shocked when I read your thread. You really just never know what can happen when you go in for surgery. I am just thankful to God he spared your life and brought you back to your family.

It will be a long road for you ahead, but you're alive and on that road now to recovery. You are a fighter and will get through this.

Please do post more of your experience when you're up to it. gosh, I can't believe this happened to you. I feel bad for you. REst up and post when you can.

Sending "gentle" hugs!!!!!! I just stopped and said a prayer for you for healing. God will get you through.

Wow talk about scary. Your poor family. And you feeling so helpless through all of it. I am so sorry you all had to go through such a scary time. Hopefully the worst is over for you and your healing can begin.
One day at a time. Or even one hour at a time.
Be sure to rest and let yourself be taken care of.
Prayers and wishes are sent to you and your family for no further complications.
So glad to see you here on the board.
Looking forward to future posts when you are feeling much better.
Take care.

Oh my gosh thank God you made it to the ER in time! Something you posted just before your surgery:
"I have had a lot of operations major and minor but for some reason this one is scaring me and I don't know why..."
is almost omenous in hindsight. When you are feeling better and ready to post, I would be curious to know how it came to be that your lungs collapsed. But until that time, take gentle care. I'm so glad you're still with us.

Love, Janet
