Cervix question
Ok this is starting to sound better.
lovetocamp from what I'm told we'll know! The 'other' wonderful indicators, moody, hot flashes, etc will let us know about menopause.
Thanks everyone off to the Castle tomorrow. I'm the 1st surgery wooohooo!

Cervix question
Hi MVG
have to say I don't want to confuse you, just before going to sugery, but I'm one of the 5% who have had a mini-period since my op.
decided to keep cervix for support issues etc. and my doctor said she cauterised it to avoid this, but I had quite severe pms, at 7 weeks and followed by 5 days of spotting/blood/spotting, definitely a period, and just as the mini part describes.
I was very disappointed, because like everyone else, the idea of being period free is one of the real postives from all this.
I'm hoping that it may settle down in the following months, but it was so clearly a period and not spotting that Im not holding my breath.
I am still glad I kept my cervix though - mentally feel more normal down there, and the support issues are important I think.
I also had to have a cervical smear test(think you call them paps), so that's something else to think about..
can't say I've found anyone else who have had this issue, so I think it's rare...sure you will make the right decison for you
good luck tomorrow
x

Cervix question
Oh so not what we want huh?! Hopefully this is a one time thing for you, I hope.
I'm a bit afraid of the same thing, since the ablation was suppose to take care of alot of the bleeding issues and didn't.
Thanks.

Cervix question
mvg, remember that its seems quite rare, and I still think it's worth keeping any healthy bits!
My final decision was made on the morning of surgery, when my surgeon said that some doctors didn't see the SAH as a REAL operation. I realised it was my body, and it's what I wanted ..
hopefully it will be a one time thing...
it was a minimal amount of discharge as well, and no pain...
take care, I'll be watching for you on the other side.
