Preparing for hysterectomy: Am I missing anything?

trying to prep for monday...

House is all clean (just need to change my bed monday am)
all gardens weeded and watered
got my gas x, my heating pad, ice packs in the freezer, have stool softeners, tylenol, advil, aleve and stronger meds
got all my books. magazines, netflix, dvds
made arrangements for kids for monday
got a grabber thing from the dollar store.
got pj's in easy reach for mon/tues (hubby will be home but then he doesnt need to look for them)

I am not freezer mealing it since he will be home and can cook.

anything else I should do?

Cushion for seatbelt on journey home. I really appreciated that. Try and relax, enjoy the weekend. I know that won't be easy, but 2 weeks on other side and although very tired I'm feeling good. Gods blessings to you for Monday. X

I am having my TAH on Monday too. Made a list a few weeks ago and only have to charge my Kindle and I am ready. Got change for the payphone just in case I can't get a mobile phone signal. Cleaned the house and packed my bag.

Be sure to pack something big and loose to wear home, including underwear and shoes!$ you could potentially have a lot of fluid retention everywhere - i took tennis shoes and my husband had to nearly remove the laces and i still wasnt comfortable. Be comfy! And dont worry, its fluid weight not real weight and it will go away over several days.

Yes, slip on shoes. The last thing you want to do us bend. Also a pillow fir the drive.

Since I didn't know how much bleeding I may or may not have had, I put a towel on the carseat for the ride home...just in case.

Sounds like you have it covered. my only addition if you're up to it have sex.

Phone charger near your recovery zone. I have been using mine a ton to look up things I never had time to before, play candy crush, and of course... look at the hystersister's app. I also have been drinking a ton of ice water so I recommend a good, big insulated cup with lid and straw. I live 90 miles from hospital and didn't have a pillow for the ride home so that's good someone pointed that out above. Enjoy the weekend and Good luck!
