pain while urinating 2 weeks post hysterectomy

Pain from surgery is almost too good to be true. Almost 2 weeks post op, only sharp pains around incision.
Had da Vinci method done, but incision above the navel was bigger due to an 16 cm fibroid. Doc said uterus weighed 1100 grams.
My only concern now, noticed white discharge on toilet paper after urinating. Slightly itchy. I have bought some cranberry juice, so will see how that goes. But no regrets at all for having the surgery!!!
I have always been prone for UTIs, but wondering if this might be related to the catheter from surgery.

Welcome! Whoa, that was one heckuva fibroid! My biggest one was 10cm, which had doubled in size in 4 months after years of no changes. (Like you, I have no regrets.)

No doubt that the catheter can cause bladder spasms even nearly 2 weeks post op. You've had UTIs before, so you're familiar with the symptoms like pain or burning, frequent urge even when there's nothing there, etc. What I'm wondering though, with the itchiness and white discharge (noticed when wiping), if it could be a yeast infection? Either way, you don't want to treat yourself for something and think you're getting better, only to find out later that you were treating the wrong problem. Might be worth a call in to your doctor. You'd be prescribed antibiotics for a yeast infection rather than a suppository at this point in your recovery.

i first got a UTI and was put on antibiotics and a week later got a yeast infection and had to take diflucan. Dr said both are pretty common so i would go get it checked out for faster relief. good luck!
