"dropping" fibroid?

Is it possible for fibroids to "drop"? Mine seems lower now, and there's considerable congestion as if "Aunt Flo" can't "get out"! Could the miserable thing be blocking the door, so to speak??

"dropping" fibroid?

Morning rain -

LOL- I don't have an answer for you, but loved your analogy. If I had to take a semi-educated guess I would say no. I believe fibroids are generally attached to the uterine wall, so it' snot like they are just rolling around in there and could occlude your cervix. Unless maybe that's where your fibroid is already and it's having a growth spurt? I don't know that it would completely block your flow in any case.

I hope someone who has a REAL answer for you chimes in here!

"dropping" fibroid?

Don't know about 'dropping', but I do know from my 6 week check-up just this week that my biggest fibroid (20cmx20cm) was growing down round the cervix as well as the uterus, which is why my intended SAH became a TAH on the table! Apparently it was causing downward pressure into vagina, and tilting cervix into an odd position. Can't say I noticed effect on flow etc pre-op though.

take care

"dropping" fibroid?

Hi!

What can happen is, depending on where it is located, that the weight of the fibroid can cause your uterus to become retroflexed or "tilted". In my case it caused very painful periods.

Check it out - you can type retroflex in a search and it will come up with the medical term - I can't remember it - maybe "dysparuenia" or something close it it?!
