Tomorrow is my 6 week check up

Did everyone get the clear to have sex @ 6 week post op appt. Dh has had this day circled for weeks :timeup: I am excited but worried its goin to hurt.. Any advice how to make it not so stressful.. Dh will understand if im not ready but I am ready mentally but dont know if physically I am

Today was my 6 week post op appt, and I was cleared for "everything."

If you are ready mentally, then you've already won half the battle. If you are not ready physically, your body will let you know. All you have to do is stop and try again later.

How to make it not so stressful? Talk to your husband about his expectations, your expectations and how the two coincide. Tell him that you are feeling a bit apprehensive and that you want to go very slowly. If you feel obligated to please him and ignore your own needs, it probably will be a disappointing experience.

My doc told me to use lubrication and to simply experiment with different positions to see what would be most comfortable. Sounds fun to me!

At my 6 week post op appointment I was told it would be best to wait 2 more weeks...I wasn't quite healed. However Dr said I could proceed very gently. Luckily DH is very supportive and said it is not worth rushing & messing things up. I've heard lubrication will be "the girls best friend".

I'm on HRT and everything worked OK. Lubrication was the same that it was before. Libido is not quite there, but that could have been because I was scared. Tummy a bit sore afterwards but no spotting.

Take your time. Things were a bit more sensitive and we did a talk through first and along the way. It was good.

I had to wait until 8 weeks to see dr for check up but I was cleared for everything. My husband was very excited. I told him that I wanted to, but that if it hurt, we just stop. He agreed because at that point he would have agreed to anything! Things actually felt better than ever before because I battle endo and I ended up crying afterward in relief. Just talk to your husband. My dr said maybe having a glass of wine would help me loosen up a bit and make the first time back from hyst easier. Keep lines of communication open and just take it nice and slow and easy.

I was cleared at 7 weeks. DH came w/me to the dr & he was glad she gave the ok. I joked w/him that he came so I couldn't lie that the dr said to wait a few more weeks. I feel bad for dh, he has been so good taking care of me & our kids, so I didn't have to do anything other that rest for 7weeks. I am just nervous is may hurt, I really don't have the desire & I am afraid of how it will be after TAH. I guess we will have to take it slow.

I too had a tah, I was released at 6 weeks. I was lucky not to hurt during or after. Lubrication or libido have not been a problem. It's the first time in 10 or more years that it doesn't hurt. Good luck to you. My hubby says it feels better to him too.
