I feel like CRAP today!!!

Sorry to rant today ladies. I had a LAVH 6 days ago. I was feeling wonderful until today. Yesterday my DH decided to have a get together at our house. He told me, like the wonderful man he is, that I should leave everything to him and not help him clean the house at all. I kept saying, "Are you crazy? I'm just fine!". Little did I know. Now he won't let me complain because he said he didn't want to hear it. Who can blaim him. I am soooooo sore today I can't hardly move just to go to the bathroom. I must have taken the stairs at least 20 times and moved a very large basket of clothes off our bed. I want to cry so much because I really wanted to return to work this week so I didn't have to rely on disability. Thanks for your listening. I knew you would understand. I'm an idiot!!!

I feel like CRAP today!!!

I am one day behind you. mine was on 27th and I also think I overdid it today. I went into my livingroom and ran my hand over my coffee table and it was black!!! My fireplace flute (?)was open and we had a bad storm while I was in the hospital, I think the wind blew it all over my furniture. I noticed when I first got home that it was on my floor in front of the fireplace and knowing myself I covered it with a rug so I did not see it everytime I walked (I would have went down on my knees and cleaned it). But all over the furniture I had already dusted the day before surgery so it would not drive me crazy I dusted a couple of things and think I was up way to much as I am sore all over right now and so tired. I was just able to get out of bed without hurting. My daughter told me she would come over tomorrow and dust the rest and bring some resolve for the carpet.

My Christmas tree is up [21 yr. old son put it up and decorated it himself] as are a few decorations. My DD is coming tomorrow to put it away for me. It will drive me nuts if I have to keep looking at it. I've never had my Christmas stuff up so late as I typically restore order on Dec. 27-8th.

I'm so thankful to have the family I have been blessed with during this time.

I feel like CRAP today!!!

I know how you feel. I'm 4 weeks post-op, and during my 2nd week, I totally forgot about not lifting things, and picked up my 8-month old niece (20 lbs!) and carried her around my parents house. I got a quick reminder later that evening that I'm not supposed to do stuff like that. I find that I still make mistakes like that (although not as often!), especially as time goes on and I'm feeling generally better. I keep having to remind myself that I'm not supposed to lift or move things until at least the 6-week mark. As time goes by, I get better at remembering to be kind to myself - you will too. Good luck with your recovery!

I feel like CRAP today!!!

I know! I picked my 10 lb cat up to test her (she has diabetes) and it was like "OH! I'm not supposed to do that!". It's so hard not to do automatic stuff you always have done.
