Staples not removed yet

I still have staples and drains. It will be three weeks tomorrow since I had surgery. They are really starting to bother me. Is this normal to have them in so long?

I had mine for about 3 weeks. They took half of them out before I was discharged and then I went back to the surgeon's office to get the rest out. They were really starting to bother and it was such a relief to get them out!!! I didn't have any drains so I don't know about that. When is your follow-up appt?

I have been back to the Dr's twice already and go back on the 28th. I hope he removes them then. My skin is so dry around them.

Had my TAH on Jan 6 2010 and my staples got removed on Jan 11. at my post op appt. Then they just taped me up and the tape come off 2 weeks later and my next appt.

I had my TAH on 4/19 and had the staples removed on 4/26. What a relief! Much easier to get comfortable and sleep.

i had mine taken out 5-6 days later also ...........

I finally got the staples removed on the 28th. Yeah!! Now if I can just get my drains removed, sleeping will be great again.
